ecsec Beatles

The concept of a Beatles themed hotel in Liverpool had been around since the late 1980s but it was only in 2004 that a suitable location and the finance to make the vision a reality came together. Located in the ‘Beatles Quarter’ of the city, adjacent to the world famous Cavern Club, the Hard Days Night hotel features visually stunning, specially commissioned artwork covering key events in the lives of the Beatles.

ecsec won the contract at tender to fit out the public areas including:

  • Blake’s Restaurant
  • Hari’s Bar
  • Bar 4
  • Brasserie
  • Entrance/Reception
  • Chapel
  • 2 Function Rooms
  • Public Toilets

Unique features included:

Blake’s Restaurant – walnut joinery, pewter bar top, acoustic ceilings, kitchen, toilets, specialist paint finishes and double fumed oak flooring.

Hari’s Bar – marble and glass bar, hand woven silk wallpaper and bespoke furniture.

Bar 4 - rosewood wall panelling, sheer stone bar front with granite top and bespoke seating and rosewood joinery.

Brasserie - a large ceiling feature, installation of bespoke joinery and furniture.

Entrance/Reception – glass and marble reception desk, granite entrance stairs, bronze feature columns, bespoke hanging glass display screen and feature pendant to ceiling.

Chapel – bespoke spiral staircase, mirrored walls, feature lighting, bespoke steel plinths with low iron glass cappings.

Function Rooms – feature ceilings, wall panelling and display cases.

Public Toilets – bespoke marble vanity basins and walnut joinery.

The project took 11 months to complete and the value was £1.2 million.
