Ecsec were delighted to build Canteens latest restaurant, situated on the ground floor of 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, following a recommendation by the architect.
Canteen is an informal restaurant serving high quality British cuisine at reasonable prices in a modern, well designed environment. There are currently three other locations in Spitalfields Market, Royal Festival Hall and Baker Street.
With the location being in Canary Wharf, this presented a number of unique issues, not normally associated with a project of this type; not least of which the tough security measures.
The project was completed in 10 weeks and the value was £650,000.
Amongst the special features of the build were lino-clad walls, French rift oak joinery, specialist acoustic wall & ceiling panels with moulded feature lighting, cork flooring, an anti-flood warning system to the under floor void with full tanking system and a complicated m&e package including a sprinkler system.
