Following a successful tender Ecsec were tasked with value engineering the project. Working closely with the design team Ecsec were able to draw on their experience to offer cost effective solutions to the client and were appointed as main contractor for the works.
The works were phased to keep key customer offers open for as long as possible and to enable the Pier to successfully trade during this period.
The scope of works included refurbishing Horatios Bar and the complete remodelling of the existing Palm Court Restaurant and Victoria’s Bar.
The brief for Horatios included the instillation of large sliding folding doors to the external elevations which involved major structural works on the live Pier, the creation of a nautical themed feature ceiling, new finishes and furniture throughout making this a great summer time venue.
The Palm Court Restaurant and Victoria’s Bar brief was very different. For this venue it was to start again all fixtures, fittings and services were stripped out back to the bare shell. Repairs were made to the existing building and a new restaurant and bar were created, utilising many of the existing features previously hidden behind wall and ceilings. A new feature bar means you can now sit and watch the sun set over Brighton whatever the weather!Click here to download
